Marcux Monarch – Victor Gordon Jr.

“The Dark Prince” does it again! With intense vocals made of raw power and an absolute hunger to be one of hip-hops most innovative pioneers; Victor Gordon Jr. May just prove him to be exactly that. To be more specific, his wordplay and tossing of syllables may very well be “juxtaposed” to many of the mainstream artists we hear today. In addition to lyricism, his commanding voice and constant versatility of rhyme scheme makes him seem entirely unpredictable. Aside from showing us time and time again that he has achieved mastery of his craft, Marcux Monarch reveals to us a couple more things with this song. The first thing is that his drive has brought him a lot more exposure; i.e. his appearance in this summer’s highly anticipated XXL magazine; You will find him in the “Artist on the rise” section. Second, is the undying honor and respect that he holds for his family, in addition to his grandfather, Victor Gordon Jr. (Victor Gordon Milton Jr). Lastly, when asked to describe the song itself he responded with this: “Victor Gordon Jr. isn’t just a song, it’s me, It’s my grandpa, it’s the spirit of the Milton family! You see, we come from native americans (Afro-Seminoles). We fight till we die, we walk with pride, and we don’t take shit from anybody. Victor Gordon Jr was and is my everything and that’s why the hook is so catchy! Nevertheless, I wanted to not only capture his attitude and spirit, I wanted to immortalize his name and do so in a way where people could rock out just like he did when you pissed him off!”
