Dynamite singer-songwriter, Jessica Chaz is a performing artist with a unique vocal talent. A Vancouver based beauty who grew up in Durban, South Africa, Jessica’s passion for music started out by singing harmonies and bass lines to TV ads as a child. Throughout her early school years she tried out different instruments always interested in the groove and beat behind the music. “I grew up with a lot of 60’s and 70’s music,” Jessica explains, “My dad used to play Cliff Richard and Elvis Presley all the time. As I grew older, I grew to love R&B music and jazz too. There was just something about the way the music made me feel” She joined the youth band at church as a teen but didn’t take music seriously until she found herself finishing high school earlier than her peers.
Jessica faced a few curveballs which brought her to the moment when she realized that music was part of her destiny. She began to feel an increasing resolve that she was born to be a musician, an artist who was meant to touch people’s lives through her music. She explains, “No matter what was going on in my life, singing was the one thing I could do, so I fell into it and stayed there.”
For Jessica, music is where her purpose lies. She feels her journey to date has been to prepare her for what she is about to do. With determination and a voice that stays with you long after you’ve heard it, the newcomer delivers a heart-warming story of searching with her debut EP Dreamin’, set for release in Summer 2018.
