Kevin Crawford is a dynamic worship leader and recording artist from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is a retired Army Veteran who has led worship for 24 years, within various congregations in the U.S. and overseas. He currently leads worship at Overcoming By Faith Ministries in Savannah, Georgia. Kevin sees his music as an extension of his ministry; a responsibility to deliver a message in song that brings hope to listeners. Some of his musical influences include Earth, Wind, and Fire, Roger Troutman, Fred Hammond, and Kirk Franklin. The son of a die-hard music lover, Kevin recounts lying in bed as a child and listening to the albums his mother would play at night. “She played her records, and she danced…and I believe I was supposed to learn from that”, he intimates. From an early age, he knew that music came naturally to him, and had to be a part of his life.
His bright new single, “Shine”, fuses some traditional gospel symphony with a touch of funk and trap trimmings. He adds his unique vocal styling as he sings his desire to Shine like Christ… “His Majesty/King Creator/ Light of Heaven/ Ruler of everything….I wanna be like my Savior/Put Your Shining Light in me…” It is a simple message of encouragement for us to let our proverbial lights shine. The track gives a glimpse of the singer/songwriter’s love for fun and artistry, while keeping God’s word, His majesty, His mercy, and grace at the forefront.
Kevin is married to Jacquelynn, his bride of 28 years, and has three children, and two grandchildren.
